My name is Nathaniel LaCrue, and I serve as the Dean of Students. I have been working in education since January 2019, supporting schools and communities with diverse student needs in urban communities. In my role, I support student behavior, coach teachers, create systems that help streamline processes and track data, and work closely with staff to build and sustain a strong, positive school culture.
I am passionate about creating the kind of school environment I did not always experience as a student myself. I believe schools should be places where students feel safe, supported, and challenged to grow, and where expectations are clear and consistent. I care deeply about equity over equality, and I focus on meeting students where they are so they receive what they need to be successful.
Outside of school, I am a parent to a four-year-old who keeps me learning every day. Much of what I learn as a parent informs my work with students and families, and my work in schools continually helps me grow as a parent as well.
