Professional Background
As a dedicated professional with twelve years of experience at 21st Century Prep School, I currently serve as the secretary of the Special Education Department. My professional journey reflects a deep commitment to educational excellence and inclusive learning environments. My extensive academic credentials include a bachelor's degree in Theology and Christian Education from American Baptist College, complemented by double minors in psychology and sociology. I further advanced my educational expertise by obtaining a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a reading license from Carthage College.
Academic and Professional Achievements
My academic pursuits extend beyond traditional educational pathways. I hold a Ph.D. in biblical counseling from Rhema College of Theology International and have also acquired a funeral apprenticeship license from MATC. These diverse qualifications demonstrate my multifaceted approach to professional development and my willingness to challenge conventional expectations. Throughout my career, I have embraced opportunities that others might have overlooked, consistently betting on my own potential and capabilities.
Personal and Professional Commitments
Beyond my educational roles, I am a co-owner of Urquhart Crenshaw Family Funeral Home alongside my husband, Daryn Crenshaw. Our family includes two daughters aged 21 and 23, and I find great joy in spending time with both my immediate and church families. My personal and professional philosophies are deeply rooted in the belief that every child deserves exceptional educational support, regardless of their special needs.
Educational Philosophy
Central to my professional mission is the conviction that all children possess unique gifts and talents. I am passionate about identifying and nurturing these individual capabilities, believing that comprehensive support can help students reach their full potential. My approach emphasizes understanding diversity, recognizing that individuals come from varied backgrounds and experiences. By promoting empathy, respect, and individualized attention, I strive to create inclusive environments that empower children to discover and amplify their inner voices.
Professional Mission
As an advocate for children, my ultimate goal is to support and elevate young learners, helping them recognize and develop their inherent strengths. I remain committed to creating educational spaces that celebrate individual differences and provide comprehensive, compassionate support for every student's unique journey.
