BABY LITS USA

Description: Once a month, students will meet to discover the joy of reading through puppet shows, creative arts, plays and games. Children will learn many tools for being successful readers.  Each child will receive a free book at every meeting to read and share with family and friends.

Grade Levels: K, 1

BATTLE OF THE BOOKS

Description:  Come join the Battle of the Books team!  It's simple:  read from a great list of books, work with a team to review what you read, and compete in an online battle at the state level.

NATIONAL JUNIOR HONOR SOCIETY

Description:  The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is one the nation's premier organizations established to recognize outstanding middle level students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serve to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character and Citizenship. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since their beginning in 1929. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service. Students are selected annually by a panel of faculty members during the month of March based on the five characteristics listed above.

Grade Levels:  4, 5, 6, 7, 8

STUDENT COUNCIL

Description:  The purpose of student council is to develop positive attitudes and to practice good citizenship, promote harmonious relations throughout the entire school, improve student/faculty relationships, improve school morale and general welfare, and plan special events or projects.  Student Council runs the school store and is in charge of Spirit Wear.

SUMO BOTS

Description:  Students will work with a team to design a robot that can push, throw, flip, drag, or move an opponent and to perform a task.  The team will also create a presentation about their robot and submit their design documentation.
